New Dine & Recline theater opens in Holly Springs
In the past 2 years the Raleigh area has had major growth in the movie theater department. With the national popularity of “Dine & Recline” models we have grown from one, (Raleighwood) to four including the conversion of an existing theater last fall. The latest addition to the field is the new Ovation Cinema Grill in Holly Springs. This theater which is part of the Carmike chain, takes some steps to separate it from the others in services and style.
Ovation Cinema Grill, located at 320 Grand Hill Place in Holly Springs, has over 1021 seats in 9 theaters. Its largest being its Big D theater and its smallest being 66 seats. All 9 theaters are Dine & Recline with waiter service. In fact there are even call buttons so you can get your server during the movie. Need a refill, dessert or to get that guy at the end of the row to shut his phone and stop texting? Now there’s a button. Ovation Cinema Grill features a full bar with 8 rotating beers on tap. There are several local beer options available, at this writing there were two Carolina Brewing options on draft as well as Aviation and Lonerider cans. They also have signature drinks based on the films currently playing. The bartender was very excited to tell me about the rotating cocktails.
In addition to the bar there is an expansive menu. Lots of choices for everyone from burgers to pasta and salad and you can make modifications, which is great for allergy concerns. The theater prides itself on being family friendly. In addition to a large lobby and sitting area they will play kid friendly movies even later. Ovation has become the 3rd location to offer monthly Sensory Friendly movies. These movies will be held on a Saturday morning. Theaters can also be rented out for private corporate events.
Ovation’s Southern Wake location will make it easier for those in the surrounding areas to get the Dine & Recline experience that the Northwestern part has been enjoying. I was able to attend the ribbon cutting and experience the full movie experience. I highly recommend the Flash Fried Asparagus. I did skip on the ice cream in favor of trying the Funnel Fries.
Ovation Cinema Grill 9 is officially open to the public.
