Movie Review: John Wick

Not all movies want to be thought provoking. John Wick just wants to take you on a ride from start to finish and entertain you. and boy does it ever. Keanu Reeves stars as John Wick a retired hitman who’s wife the love of his life has just died. on the evening of her funeral he receives a puppy she picked out for him and a handwritten note telling him bond with the dog. Having no earthly idea what to do he feeds the dog his cereal with milk, good thing its pretty much trained and already loves him he bonds with the dog superfast. One day while out buying gas he comes across what look like low level criminals who ask to buy his extremely sweet car. after saying no they then show up at his house steal the car, beat him up and kill the dog. You don’t just kill a man’s dog!

John Wick then is the awakened hitman out to up the body count. He’s no quiet or neat or anything. Everybody knows exactly what he’s capable of except the one person who thought it was a good idea to kill his dog. Iosef. played by Alfie Allen. Yes Theon Greyjoy and its a glorious mashup to watch him be hunted. You just sit here in John Wick’s world watch the body’s pile up,The people you know like William Dafoe as Marcus fellow hitman, John Leguizamo as the chop shop owner, Adrianne Palicki as Ms. Perkins, Ian McShane as Winston as well as the faces of that guy who was in that thing, (look its Mayhem from the insurance commercials!) laugh, snort, giggle at how improbable it all is but you will enjoy almost every minute of it.
