Worth the Rent: The Grand Budapest Hotel

GrandBudapestHotelDVDWes Anderson‘s latest film is now on DVD. The Grand Budapest Hotel is one of his more entertaining outings. I caught this film back when it was in theaters and it reminded my why I enjoy his films so much. I even got a Cross Keys Pin.

The Grand Budapest Hotel tells the back story of the hotel back when it was a grand location not the outdated rundown hotel it is now. Focusing on the greatest Concierge ever Gustave (Ralph Fiennes) and his lobby boy Zero (Tony Revolori) who soon becomes his best friend, the stories about the grand clients, the many women who adored Gustave and the event surrounding the murder of Madame D (Twilda Swinton). It typical Wes Anderson style the cast is a laundry list of his frequent stars. Jude Law, Jason Schwartzman, Bill Murray, William Dafoe, Adrien Brody, Owen Wilson and many others all make appearances.

If you like Wes Anderson this is no different. The chase scene is rather comical. The Grand Budapest Hotel is rated R. Its definitely worth the rent for Wes Anderson fans. If you are new to his work this is a good introduction.
